In Oslo, we got a Volvo V60 from the rental agency and hit the road. Our first stop was in Oslo at the Vigeland Park, this park of amazing sculptures and a very good playground for the kids.

We had a lovely stay with the family, and had a great time exploring Skien. We spend some of Monday at an awesome pool that had a climbing wall for Elsa, visited the Telemark Museum that Ellen, Torbjørn's wife works at, and then had dinner on the water, near a great little park.
Telemark Museum has farm houses from the 1700's.

In the morning, Elsa and I jumped into the ocean, just like I did 20 years ago. 14 degrees Celsius, is a bit cold, but is is fun to say you jumped into the North Sea.

After fun on the island, we headed south to Gothenburg and met up with Frederick (Kjell's son) and his family for fun at the local park.
On Thursday, we headed out early and visited a local barbershop for haircuts for the boys.
Then we took a tour of town, before I met up with the people from the local Cadence office.
After lunch, it was time for Liseburg, the local amusement park. It was wonderful to see Elsa and Sonja connect, even without a common language.
On Friday, we explored the amazing local science museum and Plikta Park in the morning.
In the afternoon, we met up with the cousins again, and braved the rain for a boat ride around town.
Early on Saturday we left town and headed toward Åtorp, and stopped at the house in Björkfallet that my great-grandmother Emma Westerlund grew up in. It is still occupied by relatives.
Just around the corner was a family reunion, ancestral church, and local celebration (200th anniversary of the bridge) to enjoy.
