We started off our summer vacation flying to Copenhagen! We headed to the airport a few hours after Elsa finished 1st grade and flew SAS to Copenhagen. It was then just a short train ride to the central station and our hotel - Copenhagen Plaza. We met up with Erik Stokstad and headed over to Tivoli Gardens for an afternoon and evening of fun!
Liam loved going on rides with his Uncle Erik and Elsa loved all the scary rides, like the The Star Flyer (tall one in the background) which I found quite scary.
The next day we headed out to the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen to visit their Traveling Rings. Elsa loved this and kept working at the rings till she could go all the way across.
The rings were part of Superkilen Park, a complex that included park donations from a variety of different countries. The rings came from Santa Monica, CA, where Elsa first experienced them.
After the Rings, we took the bus to visit the Little Mermaid via a walk through a park and armory.
The kids enjoyed climbing on all the rocks around the statue. The Little Mermaid has not changed much since Arne's parents visited it in 1968!
It was so much fun to see Stokstad boys hanging out together.
After the fun morning of exploring, we returned to Tivoli Gardens for an evening of fun.
I don't think things have changed that much since Arne's parents visited in the 60s!
Sunday morning, we got up early to explore. We visited the Kings Garden and the kids played in the playground.
Then we wandered through the awesome Copenhagen Geological Museum. Elsa was fascinated by all the crystals and rocks.
After a fun morning, it was time to say goodbye to Erik and head out on the next part of our Nordic Adventure, the Disney Cruise.
