Sunday afternoon we boarded the boat for our trip through the Norway fjords! This was our first time on a cruise ship and Disney took very good care of us. Soon after boarding the boat left the dock headed out toward
Stavanger. Upon arrival in Stavanger, we headed out on a boat ride to through Lysefjord to see Pulpit Rock. Arne took a LOT of pictures.
Once back, we got to explore town, and found a great play yard, Geopark, of recycled oil well equipment.
We then headed into the center of town to explore the local pond and park before heading back to the ship.
The next day we landed in Ålesund. Here we took a bus up the hill for a view of town and then headed to the Sunnmøre outdoor museum.
Arne then spent the afternoon wandering around the quiet little town.
Then we sailed to Geiranger fjord, and while it was too windy to dock and do a planned farm tour, we did get a chance to enjoy the spectacular sights.
The next day we stopped in
Bergen. We wandered around, through
Bergenhus Fortress, past the old quayside
Bryggen, and around town.
While wandering around, we happened to run into my mom's good friend Marci, who was on her own Nordic Adventure.
We then took the Fløibanen funicular to
Mt Fløyen, a to the viewpoint of city and an awesome park for kids - a Troll Park! The kids loved their rainy day play in the park.
Our final day was at sea. This gave us time for Liam and Elsa's favorite thing - swimming! Beyond swimming, we played shuffleboard, went to shows and hung out together. For Liam, the best part of the boat must have been the 10 slices of pizza he consumed each day!
Once the cruise was back in Copenhagen, we packed up and headed to the airport for our flight to Oslo and the next part of our adventure, the Road Trip.
