Lair of the Bear 2017

It was another great week at Camp Blue!  This year our children were more independent, with Elsa joining the 8s & 9s and Liam checking himself into KK!  The 8s & 9s had lots of fun activities, like horseback riding and walking to the lake to paddleboat.  I think Elsa's favorite was looking for "gold" in the creek.  She made it a mission to find more than anyone else.
Later, we all went to the creek, so Elsa and Liam could look for more gold, and check out all the frogs.
Elsa continues to have a best friend at camp - Mackenzie.  This year, she got to sleep over in Mackenzie's cabin.  It has been great watching the girls grow up.
On Wednesday, we headed out to Pinecrest Lake for some paddleboating.  It was great to see the lake filled with water.  This year, our added excitement was seeing a water snake!
We continued our tradition of yearly tie-dye.  This year, Elsa came up with a number of new and innovative designs for her shirts.  It was a lot of fun to see and wear our creations.
This year the tie-dye was not as faded as in past years.
Wearing the tie-dye from 2008 - Arne's first Lair!
We spent a lot of time in the pool, enjoying the water on the hot days. It is nice that Liam is water safe and can jump off the diving board by himself!

We also played a lot of volleyball.  Arne & I joined 4 others to win the 6 person volleyball tournament. It was nice playing together and on our own teams. I also had a lot of fun winning the game against staff!

We went to all the shows, and even made it to Pinecrest amphitheater for a movie under the stars - Spiderman.  Elsa and Liam had fun during the Blue Review.

The kids' favorite sport is shuffleboard.
I enjoyed just seeing them hang out together and play in the dirt.
We had a fun night at Disco Bingo, with the kids dressing up in flashing lights.
While many things were the same, like the KK parade, the new thing this year was a festival at Gold to start off the week. Liam loved the face paint.
One of my favorite things, continues to be having all our food provided!
Overall, it was another awesome year at the Lair!
