Halloween 2021

Happy Halloween!  The Kids had a lot of fun dressing up, Elsa as a Ghost and Liam as a Gamer. They split up and each spent the evening trick or treating with their friends.

Before heading out, Liam and I took some pictures with the big pumpkins.

We had a number of fun Halloween events this month, the big one being dressing up for school on Friday.

I was volunteering in Liam's classroom for Art, so got to get a picture of the whole class.

And see him on the wall ball court in costume!

Liam does love decorating, and had a lot of fun putting up our spider web.

He also carved a lot of pumpkins!

We had fun at the pumpkin patch getting the pumpkins to carve.

We took a hay ride and picked corn.  It was really good.

It was another fun Halloween month!

October Mountain Adventures

We started off the month heading up to Fallen Leaf Lake for a weekend of Princeton in the Sierras.  It was great to return to camp and enjoy mountain time, although it was super cold.  I learned that Liam had outgrown some of his cold weather clothes that we had not worn in a year and a half.

On Saturday morning, Arne and I enjoyed a hike around part of the lake while the kids did age group activities.
We all enjoyed the meals served to us.  Elsa spend a lot of time with other kids.
Liam and I went canoeing.

And he loved doing the climbing wall.

And then scrambling down the hill with Arne.
Elsa did paddle boating with other kids.
She and Liam are fun, but no longer good about pictures together.
The last morning Liam and I went paddle boating.
One of the highlights was the Saturday night Dance Party - Liam is a Dancer!

Two weeks later, Liam and I spent a weekend at the Scout Reservation in the Santa Cruz Mountains for Cub-On, a cub scout camping weekend.
It was super fun.  Liam loved trying archery, BB Gun, sling shot, whittling, candle making, and other adventures, like the spooky trail.

It was nice to have a special weekend with him.

September Sports and Fun

September has been an exciting month, with the start up of many fall sports and activities.  Elsa is containing with swimming and softball. For Fall Ball, Elsa is playing with several of her friends.  The big excitement is that they have night games.

Elsa continues to swim with PASA (Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics) Rinconada and had her first swim meet on September 24th.  It was a crazy afternoon of swimming and all her work is paying off with her dropping 20 seconds off a lot of her old times from 6 months ago.

Liam continues to play rec league soccer, really enjoying the game.  The bigger commitment is he started playing on his first real team - a little league baseball team. It has been really fun having him learn the sport.  He likes batting. In his second game he got to play catcher, just like his mom, aunt, grandfather Nisewaner, and great-uncle Richard. In his 4th game, he got a stand up homer due to 3 overthrows and some great base running.

And sometimes he just sits in the ball bucket!

The other exciting September event was Liam's Cub Scout Pack Camping Trip with over 20 kids and over 20 adults. It was a great gathering and outdoor overnight for the kids.

At the end of the month I enjoyed getting school pictures.
