After a quiet February in Palo Alto, we spent all our March weekends having adventures. It started with Arne going to Chicago to play in a professional volleyball tournament! He was living his best life on this weekend adventure.
The month was filled with a lot of sports. Baseball kicked off for Liam and softball for Elsa. They had a few games.
The second weekend of the month was a long school weekend, so we headed up to Tahoe for a weekend of skiing at Palisades. It was nice staying in the Village, with easy access to all of the lifts.
The first day, it was so windy that only one run was open, but it was a long one, so we went several times. After 7 miles of skiing, we were able to go back to the room for a break and hot tub time.
Then it was back for some late afternoon skiing.
The next morning we took a private family lesson, which was great. We skied over 10 miles on the mid-mountain, that was open with beautiful clear weather in the morning. We then headed home and were very lucky to avoid a 6 hour shutdown of the freeway for an overturned propane tanker.
The next weekend was filled with fun. On Friday night, Elsa had her first school dance. She went to a friends house to get ready and then head out to the dance with all the girls. This felt like a return to normal times.
The next morning she and I got up really early and headed down to Santa Barbara for a weekend of fun with her friend Josie. We played at the beach and had a great time in the sun while it rained at home.
The next day we headed out to Los Padres National Forest's "Playground," an area filled with boulders to climb and views to enjoy, for a hike and climb adventure.
While we were having an adventure, Liam and Arne were enjoying the Boy Scouts Pinewood Derby! Liam made a cool car,
and helped Arne with a slow car.
Pack 57 all gathered together and had a great time watching the races.
Elsa had a lot of fun shopping in downtown with Amanda and then we woke up to a rainy morning for the big meet.
March was a very exciting month where we got to just do so many fun things. We are looking forward to more adventures in April!
