Pinnacles

On a warm early spring day we went to the western entrance of Pinnacles National Park and did a fantastic hike with friends up Juniper canyon trail, through the steep and narrow section of the High Peaks trail and tunnel trail. We saw the dramatic cliffs and beautiful views that we didn't see last year when we camped on the eastern side. We saw some condors at a distance but all I got pictures of were turkey vultures. Here's a crazy bit of trivia I just read on the NPS website: "An inventory of bees conducted in the late 1990s found roughly 400 species of bees at Pinnacles. This is the highest known bee diversity per unit area of any place on earth." I didn't notice the bees when I was there.
