Winter Fun in Canada 2020

We went on an extended Presidents Day weekend trip to Vancouver and Whistler to visit friends, ski, and enjoy winter.

Our first activity in Vancouver was going to Science World.  My friend Stephanie volunteers there and showed us around. We saw an iMax movie about Apollo 11 in the big silver dome in the background of the photo below. There was a great playground outside of Science World.

Valentine's morning, Stephanie took us to Gouse Mountain, which was only 10 minutes from their house in North Vancouver.  A short gondola ride takes you from the city to the slopes.

It was fun to ski as a family around the mountain.  At the top of one of the runs, there was a windmill!
Once it started to get foggy on the hill, the kids decided to play in the  snow before heading back down the gondola.

On Saturday, we took the Ski Bus to Whistler Village to visit my friend Laura.

Laura and Mark took us up the Whistler Mountain.  It was beautiful.

After lunch we took the Peak to Peak gondola from Whistler to Blackcomb.  It was impressive.
We skied down the Blackcomb Mountain, a very long run.  At the end of the run, it started to snow, so Elsa and I did one extra run in the snow, before heading to the village for some fun snow play.

Sunday morning we headed back into the village for some more snow fun.

Then we returned to Vancouver, along a gorgeous road.
Our last morning we stopped in Stanley Park, before heading to the airport and home.

We had a great Canadian Holiday!
