We started the new year off with a little trip to Santa Monica. We did not rent a car this trip, so we got to experience all the fun public transit options. The weather was clear and beautiful. We could see snow on mount Baldy. We took the Big Blue Bus seven miles from the airport to Santa Monica and our hotel. The first stop for Elsa was the traveling rings.
Then Elsa and I explored and found ramen shop. It was yummy.
On Sunday, we headed back to the traveling rings. Liam also played in the big blow ups.
Elsa continued on the rings, while Liam and I went on the Pacific Park rides. We did the roller coaster 3 times!
That night we watched the sunset and hung out with Arne's college friend, George.
One Monday, after some time with the traveling rings, we took the light rail, the new Santa Monica Line, to the California Science Center. There we were able to see the Space Shuttle Endeavor! It was awesome. So was ET, the Big Orange External Tank.
At nine that night we went out to see fireworks and welcome in the new year.
Tuesday morning we headed back to the beach, for some more ring time and playing in the sand. The kids and I got a bit wet and they enjoyed covering me up with sand.
Then it was back on the bus and back to LAX. It was a wonderful adventure.
