Camp Blue 2016

It was another great week at Camp Blue!  This year our children were more independent. For the first night's campfire, both Elsa and Liam sat with other kids - this was a first. It was nice that later in the week they returned to sitting in our arms, and in the case of Liam, falling asleep in my arms after long days of play.
Waiting for the Hoot to start!

A tired boy at the final show.
The week was HOT and we spent a lot of time in the pool, starting off with the pool show on Sunday.  Elsa got to walk across a staffer bridge, while Liam and I watched..
Walking on water.

Those funny staffers.

The best part of pool time - popcicles.

This year, Elsa's friend Mackenzie spent two nights sleeping over in our cabin.  It was great fun to watch the girls hang out and have adventures together.
Sleepover stories.

Hammock fun.

Friends!
Liam really enjoyed the KK this year and he had a good playmate in Leo - they played with sand and on the swings a lot!
Look, it is a Dragon - run...
Liam also enjoyed trying out new sports, like paddle tennis and shuffleboard.
I can hit it!

Look how far the disk went.
Liam's favorite thing to do was watch the dishwashers.  One of his KK teachers took him on a tour of DishwasherLand!

On Tuesday morning, I took Liam fishing with a group.  This was his first fishing adventure and he was very excited to try this out.  We caught a lot of leaves.
I got something!

Having fun at 7AM at the lake.

On Tuesday night, we took the kids to Movies Under the Stars - a tradition at Pinecrest Lake for over 80 years. We saw "The Secret Life of Dogs"  It was a beautiful night to explore by the lake before the show.
What is this chain for?

We found a stump!

On Wednesday, we headed back to the lake with my Mom for a paddle boating adventure.  We had two boats and lots of fun.  We swam, climbed rocks and just enjoyed time on the water.
Pulling us along!

Exploring the rocks.

Arne and I enjoyed playing volleyball and I had a lot of fun with our small but strong softball squad.
I got to bat like 10 times!

The team plus our "7th man" Liam!
We were able to spend some time exploring camp and the creek.

Oh mommy, why are you singing again.
And many of the evenings we spend going to parties and having fun taking pictures.

Rock climbing.

The bear!

Mom at our tent!
As we do most years, we made some awesome tie-dye. Elsa's was a seascape and Liam's was the sun and the sunset.  They both wore their shirts to a great Talent Show.
Using my squeeze bottle.

Tie-dye fun!
Showing off the shirts.

Liam said his favorite part of Camp was the pool!

Elsa's skit was sitting on an invisible bench.

It was a wonderful week and we were sad to go, although Liam really enjoyed helping me pack the car.
