Hawaii 2016

This year, we we started off the winter holiday break with a trip to Hawaii.  We flew into Ohau on the 17th and headed over to the Disney Aulani  for a vacation in the sun. Our first night we met up with my UCLA friends Mike  Nan and their kids for a great dinner at Monkeypod.  We then spent our 5 nights in Hawaii enjoying the resort, beach and pools.

We had a lot of fun playing at the protected lagoon.  Perfect for Liam, although Elsa would have enjoyed bigger waves.

Our big adventure was to take a outrigger style boat ride.  Just like in the movie Moana.  Liam loved it!

We also had fun when one of Elsa's classmates family showed up.  Elsa and Maya got to play together in the water and even had a hotel room sleepover.

December 21st was Liam's 4th birthday and we enjoyed a Disney breakfast.

Shave ices were a big hit - with both of the kids loving all the different flavors.

We did explore a bit - visiting a few of the other lagoons and checking out the area.

Mostly we just hung out at the pool. There were some great waterslides.

The kids really did love playing at the edge of the infinity pool.

Some afternoons, we just stayed at the room watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse videos.

The evenings were beautiful.  We tried to watch the sunsets and often played in the water just after dark.

And there were some great local wildlife.

It was nice to have a sunny warm break before winter begins.

Liam is 4!

Aloha!  We are so excited to celebrate Liam turning 4! We're posting this from Hawaii where Liam celebrated his birthday today at a Disney resort.

He has had a great year of play and learning. He still loves his pre-school DCC and all his fun activities like swim and gymnastics.  He is growing so big. He is now over 40 pounds and over 44 inches tall.

This year he planned his birthday party, which was last week.  He wanted a party at home, with a Paw Patrol theme (a cartoon he watches) and Legos.  It was an awesome event, with 18 kids and 20 adults. Liam was happy the whole time, especially when he got his lego man cake - vanilla cake with no frosting - his favorite.

Arne posted many fun pictures from the day here. We are looking forward to another great year with our little boy!
